 The first trip to Hackett gulch was a bust. It had snowed that day in Colorado Springs so I was late getting going. I got lost trying to find the trailhead so I missed the group I was supposed to meet. I did meet someone else though so the two of us decided to go down the trail. There was some snow on the trail but it didn't really cause any problems until Hackett Rock. Neither of us could get up the rock and neither had a winch so this was as far as we got. Besides that my brakes were starting to fade so we decided to turn back.
Just for fun, I decided to try the rock in my tow rig. I got about half way up before burying my rear bumper. I could have winched over, but I decided it wasn't worth the potential damage. |
