When I bought the Jeep, it came with the T-98a transmission on the left as a spare.  This transmission was a factory option behind the F134 for a time, and featured a unique input shaft and bearing retainer.  The shaft sticks out about 7", measures 15/16" diameter and has 10 splines.  The bearing retainer is stepped, with a Ford sized base diameter, and a T-90 sized outer diameter.  It was originally used with an adapter plate to bolt up to the F134/L134 bellhousing with the use of an adapter.  I could have used this input shaft with the pinto pressure plate and 8" Willys pressure plate that I was using with the current setup.  I decided it would be better to use an 1 1/16" ford input shaft from the Ford T-18 on the right.  This allowed me to use the 9" SVO clutch.  I thought it was just a matter of swapping the input shafts.  Not quite.
